The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.

-Hunter S. Thompson

Erin O’Connor’s Sandbox Studio is an independent Madison, Wisconsin-based venture providing design services to performing artists, small businesses and institutional clients throughout the United States.

Sandbox has created t-shirt designs, CD packaging,  promotional swag and logos; as well as the design and production of limited edition ephemera for clients as diverse as Wilco, The Swell Season; Madison Wisconsin concert promoters True Endeavors and The University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Sandbox was founded in 2007 by O’Connor, then a post-graduate student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Erin began her career as a designer at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design (2006). During her study at UW-Stevens Point, O’Connor served as art director for the campus concert booking organization, Centertainment. Erin received design and screen printing-focused Master of Arts (2008) and Master of Fine Arts (2009) degrees from  the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Erin joined the teaching staff of UW-Madison in 2009. She has conceptualized a new course, Urban Graphics, for the University - a first for the institution - which she will lead in the 2010-2011 term.
